Molecor Presents Its Latest Technological Developments at K2025

These days everybody has a unique thing in mind, the K fair. It starts next 8th October with a huge affluency of exhibitors, and Molecor, the leader company in the development of technology for the manufacture of OPVC pipes, will be present with its latest innovations.

This sectorial fair, with more than 220.000 visitors per edition, is the most important event of the year for the plastics sector, and it takes place between 8th and 15th of October in Düsseldorf, Germany.

This year, Molecor presents SilkWorm®, the first comprehensive system for the decentralised production of large-diameter PVC-O pipes (DN500 to DN1200 mm, 18” to 48”), based on Molecor’s exclusive orientation technology.

This innovative system has been created to reduce logistical costs and facilitate the rapid establishment of production, promoting a decentralised and flexible model.

Thanks to its implementation, locations previously considered unfeasible will be able to be supplied with TOM® PVC-O pipes, optimising resources and delivery times.

Molecor will be located in Hall 16, Stand 17, showcasing the world’s largest pipe. This pipeline, with 1200 mm of diameter and its 5.95 m length, is new breaking point for the Spanish company and, above all, for the water sector. Furthermore, this diameter means a new stage for the transport of water, which becomes more sustainable, widening at the same time, the possibilities for the conveyance of water under pressure.

It had never been manufactured before, but its size impresses anyone. The exclusive technology of Molecor is the only one in the world capable of manufacturing large diameter OPVC pipes and it is thanks to the continuous Molecor’s commitment on Research and Development.

TOM® pipes and ecoFITTOM® fittings enable the replacement of old traditional ones around the world to implement the new material, OPVC, thus getting a more respectful impact on the environment. In this sense, we must highlight the great chemical and physical resistance of OPVC

This chemical resistance makes possible Oriented PVC be immune to corrosion and natural chemical substances, as well as to aggression from micro- and macro- organisms present in nature. For that reason, TOM® pipes are not degradable and, thus, the quality of the fluid that circulates inside them will always remain unaltered. Expressed differently, OPVC pipes keep a total quality of the transported water.

Moreover, energy consumption of OPVC pipes and fittings is lower than other traditional materials in all the phases of their life cycle. It is because its inner surface is extremely smooth and, therefore, we need a lower quantity of energy to impulse the canalised fluid.

Additionally, we can’t forget the water, the principal actor of the sector. Thanks to the 100% watertight of the OPVC pipes and fittings, we can save 100% of the water, whereas other materials loose more than 25% of the canalised fluid.

On the other hand, it is important to say that PVC is a 100% recyclable material, so it can be reprocessed and used in new plastics applications with less technical requirements. Thus, thanks to this plastic material, natural resources can be optimized.

Among other innovations, Molecor will also present EVAC+ rCOMPACT®, a compact structured co-extruded pipe with up to 60% of recycled material in its middle layer, designed for residential, industrial and commercial projects, available from DN32 to DN200 mm; and TR6®, the first PN6 Oriented PVC pipe of Molecor specially designed for irrigation, that stands out for its high efficiency and the lowest carbon footprint in its category, available from DN90 to DN400 mm.

Nowadays, Molecor is present in 5 continents thanks to its exclusive technology and products, a technology based on a Genuine Air System.

In order to improve its own OPVC system, Molecor invests in Research and Development part of its budget, and it has been recognized with various WIPO PCT registered worldwide.
